North Beach

North Beach is a beautiful and clean beach known for its solid sand, making it fantastic for long walks. The beach's natural characteristics are always changing, depending on the tide. Some days it can be covered in stones, while on other days it is mostly flat sand. It has a steeper gradient than the south beach, which can make for a very dramatic scene during high tide. The view towards Flamborough head from North Beach is fantastic, and just a 20-minute walk from the promenade can lead to views across the town and beyond. Regular visitors to this part of the east coast include pods of dolphins and porpoises, which can be an amazing surprise when they appear.

The beach has designated areas for dogs and a lifeguard station that operates during the summer months. There are markers on the beach recommending where to enter the sea, and during holiday time, dogs are not allowed in this marked area. However, dogs are allowed anywhere outside this area. Amenities at North Beach include toilets, one block on the promenade and another further along towards the headland. There are also plenty of food and drink outlets available from early in the morning.

North Beach is easily accessible, with a promenade, shops, and toilets nearby. There is also some roadside parking available. The beach is a popular location for events, such as the kite festival, making it a good family day out.
