Paralia Kalamitsiou is a beach located near the Patrick Lee Fermor House. It is known for its clear blue water, wonderful view of the mountains and tall trees, and its relative quietness compared to nearby beaches. The beach is naturally beautiful, with no organised paid-for space or beach bars. However, visitors should be cautious of the stones in the sea, which can pose a risk when wading into the water.
The beach is divided into two parts by a rocky area. The main part of the beach has pebbles and the sea deepens quickly. On the other side of the rocks, there is a smaller, more isolated part of the beach. This part is sandy, warmer, and the sea deepens more gradually, making it an ideal spot for those seeking tranquillity.
Paralia Kalamitsiou is also a beautiful sea golf with soft and fine sand, making it a quiet and enjoyable place for visitors. The beach is ideal for snorkeling, with sand and rocks in the water. However, visitors should be aware of the large rocks at the bottom of the sea, which can cause harm while walking in the water.
One downside to the beach is the illegally built fence wall of a nearby villa, which limits the beach space and contributes to coastal erosion. Despite this, Paralia Kalamitsiou remains a hidden gem in the area, offering a natural and serene beach experience.
