Paralia Managros

Paralia Managros, Sidiroúnta, is a picturesque beach located approximately 35 km from Chios, Greece, and in close proximity to the village of Volissos. It is renowned for its extensive coastline, spanning over 2 kilometers, making it one of the largest beaches in Greece. The beach's landscape is a blend of sand and small pebbles, with areas of fine pebbles and coarse sand, catering to a variety of preferences.

The waters at Paralia Managros are known for their clarity and cleanliness. However, they can be quite cold, and the sea deepens rapidly, resembling a swimming pool. As a result, visitors are advised to exercise caution. Despite the deep and cold waters, the beach is a popular destination for both couples and families with children. It is also noted for its tranquility, with the beach rarely being crowded, even during peak hours.

Paralia Managros is devoid of commercial amenities such as bars and umbrellas. Instead, it retains a largely unspoiled and serene atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for a full-day excursion. However, there is a canteen located on the north side of the beach, known as Gonia, which provides a limited number of umbrellas and sunbeds. Many visitors choose to set up tents under the nearby trees for shade. A tap with drinking water is conveniently situated at the turn from the main road leading to the village, but it is recommended for visitors to bring their own supplies, including food, water, and sun lotion.

The beach is divided into different sections, with Gonia to the north and the central part known as Magemena. The southern side of the beach is frequently used for nudism, although this can also be observed in scattered areas throughout the beach.

In addition to the beach itself, visitors can explore nearby attractions such as Palea Potamia, Volissos Castle, and the village of Volissos, which boasts 41 churches and chapels. Despite its secluded location, Paralia Managros can be easily accessed via the road to Volissos.
