Paralia Pirgos, also known as Pyrgos Beach, is a picturesque and beautiful destination worth visiting. The beach is named after a tower that was built by the Venetians in 1200 AD on a nearby hill. Unfortunately, the tower was destroyed in 1900 by an incoming English battleship.
The beach itself is located in a small cove and is known for its clear blue waters. It is not an organized beach, meaning it lacks amenities typically found at more commercial beaches. The beach is also characterized by many rocks and stones in the sea, making it an interesting spot for snorkeling. However, it's worth noting that swimming may not be the primary attraction for some visitors.
Paralia Pirgos is usually not crowded, offering a peaceful and serene environment for visitors. On some occasions, visitors might even find themselves alone on the beach.
Access to the beach is a bit challenging. The road leading to the beach is a dirt road and can be difficult to navigate, especially with a conventional car. It is recommended to use a 4x4 vehicle for the journey. Despite the difficult road, the area surrounding the beach is very beautiful, making the journey worthwhile.
Please note that the natural conditions of the beach can vary. For instance, there have been reports of jellyfishes in the sea on certain days.
