Paralia Porto Katsiki

Paralia Porto Katsiki is a beach located in Lefkada, Greece that is well-known among tourists. Its name is derived from its history as a grazing spot for goats, hence "Port of the goats". The beach is composed of a combination of sand and pebbles. The waters are typically calm, but can become choppy in the afternoon due to wind. The limestone cliffs surrounding the beach give the water a beautiful blue color. However, the cliffs also reduce visibility for snorkeling. The best time to visit is in late May or early June, or in September-October. The beach can be accessed by land or sea, with a steep staircase as the land option. There is limited infrastructure on the beach and no lifeguards, but nearby villages offer accommodation options. In 2015, an earthquake damaged the beach, but amenities such as toilets and loungers are still available. Additionally, there are restaurants on the beach, and dogs are permitted. A parking area is also available nearby.
