Paralia Souniou

Paralia Souniou is a picturesque beach located near the ancient Temple of Poseidon, offering a unique view of the historic site. The beach is situated in a small, beautiful bay and is known for its clear and mostly shallow waters, making it suitable for children. The beach is a combination of sand and pebbles, with some rocks that can sometimes be a minor inconvenience. The water is clean and visitors have reported seeing a variety of fish.

The beach is divided into two sections, a larger chargeable area and a smaller free section. The larger section is well-organized with comfortable sun loungers and umbrellas, provided by the neighboring Aegeon Beach Hotel. The beach also offers clean restroom facilities.

There are several ways to reach Paralia Souniou. One of the most popular methods is by bus from Athens, which drops visitors off at the entrance of the Poseidon temple. From there, it's a 15-minute walk down a path off the highway through shrubland to the beach. Alternatively, visitors can navigate directly to the free parking lot at the Aegeon Beach Hotel to avoid the walk.

The beach is a popular destination, especially on weekends, and can get crowded. Visitors can also enjoy the local cuisine at two taverns located on the beach. The nearby town of Lavrio is easily accessible by car, adding to the convenience of the location. Despite its popularity, the beach maintains a serene and magical atmosphere, especially during sunset.
