Paralia Xila is a tranquil beach located in Kea, Greece, renowned for its pristine waters and picturesque scenery. It extends over 200 meters, presenting a panorama of deep blue waters that attract visitors seeking serenity and natural beauty. As the beach is off the beaten path and lacks direct road access, it offers a secluded and peaceful environment. This remoteness also means that the beach is not usually crowded, providing a more relaxed atmosphere for guests.
The beach is approximately 4 to 5 km away from the settlement of Korissia. To get there, visitors can take the coastal road towards the Marades area and Melissaki beach from Korissia. After a short distance, the road turns into a dirt track. Instead of heading down to Melissaki, one should continue southwest. There is also an alternative route via the Stavroti area, which is slightly shorter. Given the road conditions, it is recommended for visitors to use a 4x4 vehicle for easier access.
Paralia Xila has no facilities, so guests are advised to bring their own supplies. However, the beach does offer permanent umbrellas for sun protection. In addition to this, sunbeds and umbrellas are available for rent, often accompanied by towels and chilled water. There is also a canteen serving a variety of beverages.
Despite the lack of an official designation, the isolation of Paralia Xila allows for nudity. The beach also has a free section, like all other beaches in Kea. There is free parking available for visitors, although the dirt track leading to the parking area can be quite dusty. Despite these minor challenges, the natural beauty and serene atmosphere of Paralia Xila make it a destination worth visiting.
