Plage de Péru

Plage de Péru, also known as Plage de Peru, is a scenic beach located in the northern area of Cargèse, a city in Corsica. Spanning approximately 900 meters, the beach is characterized by its fine sand and shallow waters, making it an ideal location for swimming and beach activities. The beach is also home to several beach huts and a notable restaurant, providing a variety of amenities for visitors.

The beach is easily accessible by car and foot, with two main access points leading to available parking spaces. One of the routes involves taking the road below D81 from the city center of Cargèse for about 1.5 kilometers. Another parking area can be found at Lustincone, at the end of the road. Alternatively, there's also a parking option closer to the beach which can be reached by taking a left turn before the beach sign. For pedestrians, the beach is moderately easy to reach, with the occasional offer of a ride back to the village from friendly locals.

On the beach, visitors can find a variety of services including kayak, paddleboard, and canoe rentals, as well as the possibility to rent sun loungers. For those interested in food and refreshments, there are several beach huts and a beachfront restaurant that serves a variety of dishes and offers a terrace with a sea view. The beach is also equipped with a lifeguard station for safety.

Despite its popularity, Plage de Péru is not overly crowded, particularly during the off-peak month of September. However, visitors should be aware of the occasional presence of jellyfish in the water. Furthermore, while the majority of the beach is covered in fine sand, some rocky areas exist, particularly on the right side of the beach. Despite these minor drawbacks and the occasional issue with bulk garbage, Plage de Péru remains a beautiful and relaxing destination, offering a picturesque view of the bay with the village of Cargèse visible in the background.
