Pessada Beach, locally known as Pesada, is a small and captivating beach located in Kefalonia, Greece. Access to Pessada Beach involves climbing a flight of stairs, which might pose challenges to individuals with mobility issues. Visitors are advised to come prepared as the beach does not offer amenities such as toilets or sunbeds. However, despite the lack of facilities, Pessada Beach draws visitors with its natural allure and scenic beauty.
Parking facilities are available in proximity to the beach with additional room on the road for overflow. The popularity of the beach often leads to it being crowded, especially around mid-morning. Therefore, visitors are advised to arrive early to secure a spot.
The beach provides natural shade, offering some relief from the afternoon sun. Nevertheless, it is recommended that visitors bring a sunshade for added protection. The beach is well-maintained and clean, with visitors often hanging their belongings on the rocks when space is limited.
Pessada Beach also offers ferry services to Zakynthos, operating from May 24th to October 15th, with daily ferry services from Pessada to Zakynthos at 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM, and from Zakynthos (Agios Nikolaos) to Pessada at 9:45 AM and 7:15 PM. However, there are no itineraries on October 3rd and October 5th. The beach and the ferry services are operated by Ionion P. Lines.
