Located to the west of the city of Limassol in Cyprus, Petra tou Romiou beach showcases a captivating terrain characterized by a blend of sand, rocks, and gravel along its shores. Its name, which translates to “Aphrodite's Rock,” derives from the Greek Goddess of Love and Beauty's fabled birthplace. Additionally, the beach is steeped in another myth, where the collection of monumental rocks scattered across it is believed to have been placed there by Byzantine hero Digenis Akritas to defend the shore from Saracen Arabs.
