Plage de Pinia is a picturesque beach located in the town of Ghisonaccia, France. This beach is characterized by its white sand and crystal-clear waters, which are surrounded by the largest maritime pine forest in Corsica, the Pinia forest. This serene forest backdrop offers not only shade during the hottest hours but also a unique, tranquil ambiance where visitors can enjoy the chirping of crickets while bathing.
Although the beach does not possess Caribbean-like characteristics, it is known for its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. Despite being considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Corsica, it remains relatively unknown and is not heavily frequented. This gives the beach a feeling of spaciousness and ensures that it never seems crowded, even during the summer.
The beach is accessible via Rue de la Mer and a stretch of white road. This road is easy to navigate even for non-off-road cars. However, visitors may need to ask locals for directions or use a navigator due to the lack of clear indications. There is a large and free car park available for visitors, which can be reached via a dirt road through the pine forest. This road is manageable even for non-off-road vehicles, although it can be a bit bumpy at times.
In terms of amenities, Plage de Pinia offers the possibility of picnicking in the pine forest, making it an ideal spot for family outings. Dogs are also allowed on this beach. A unique aspect of Plage de Pinia is the occasional presence of horses running along the beach, although visitors are advised to be cautious as there may be horse manure in the sand.
