Platja d'Ocata, also known as El Masnou, is a well-known beach located in the area of Fascurt, to the east of the port of El Masnou. Alternatively, the beach can be accessed by using the suburban Renfe train service, with the Ocata train station located just a few steps away.
Platja d'Ocata is bordered by a wide promenade popular among pedestrians and cyclists. This promenade also offers sports equipment for physical exercise. The beach itself provides ample space for sunbathing and family games, and is equipped with amenities such as bathrooms, soccer fields, and sports facilities.
The beach area near the marina is characterized by fine sand and offers amenities such as showers, beach sports areas, and surveillance services by the Red Cross. There are also several beach bars and restaurants in this area. During the summer, cultural and leisure activities are organized here by the El Masnou Town Hall.
Further towards PremiĆ de Mar, there is a designated area for angling that spans about 200 meters and is available 24 hours a day. Following this area, there is another stretch of the beach where nudity is permitted, making it a clothing optional beach.
Despite its spaciousness, Platja d'Ocata can become crowded during peak summer months. The beach is considered safe, with clear water that, however, gets deep quite quickly, making it less suitable for small children or those who are not strong swimmers. The beach is also frequented by dogs. Visitors should note that swimming and drinking alcohol are not allowed.
