Platja de Ses Roquetes, also referred to as Es Carbó Gran, is a picturesque beach situated near the holiday resort of Colònia de Sant Jordi in Ses Salines, Mallorca. It is nestled in front of an islet bearing the same name, which adds to the beach's allure. This tranquil beach is primarily accessible by foot, either from Port de Sa Colònia de Sant Jordi or from Cap de Ses Salines, with the journey passing through Es Caragol and Cala en Tugores. The walk to the beach, which lasts approximately 45 minutes, is flat and straightforward, making it suitable even for those wearing flip flops.
Known for its white, fine sand and clean, transparent turquoise water, this beach stretches for about a kilometer and is characteristic of the southern coast of Mallorca. It has a gentle slope and is surrounded by a landscape filled with bushes and pine trees. An area of the beach naturally accumulates algae, which adds a unique touch to its natural beauty. The beach is also home to a protected dune area that is off-limits to visitors.
Despite being considered one of the most paradisiacal beaches in Mallorca, Platja de Ses Roquetes is less crowded compared to other popular beaches in the area. This is partly due to the fact that it is not developed for tourism. The beach does not have any amenities such as sunbeds, umbrellas, or beach bars, and there are no nearby restaurants. Visitors are advised to bring their own food, water, sun protection, and umbrella.
The beach's location offers a wonderful view of the blue and green sea, the island of Cabrera, and the small island of Na Moltena. Although the water near the beach is shallow, caution is advised when anchoring boats. Boat trips to these islands are recommended for their stunning natural scenery and the opportunity to explore caves.
