Porticciolo is a serene beach located below the village of Nonza. It is characterized by its unique green-black pebbles that can get quite warm on a hot day. The beach is immense and offers a tranquil environment as it is not usually crowded, allowing visitors to enjoy the peaceful sound of the rushing waves.
The beach is easily accessible, with a free car park located just 10 minutes away. However, it's worth noting that the car park tends to fill up quickly, usually by 11am.
Adjacent to the beach is the traditional village of Porticciolo, which is the navy of the Cagnano valley. The village is steeped in history, once housing a small shipbuilding yard until 1873, and was a trading hub with Italy and other Cape ports. The village, with its authentic slate-roofed houses, offers an ideal place for visitors to spend a few hours of tranquility and relaxation by the sea.
Despite its historical significance, Porticciolo has managed to retain its simplicity and harmony, making it an oasis of tranquility. The clear-bottomed sea that bathes the small village further enhances its charm and appeal.
