Sandling Beach Recreation Area

Sandling Beach Recreation Area is a popular lake beach known for its warm water with cool undercurrents and hot sand. The beach is equipped with amenities such as grills, picnic tables, and shaded areas, making it an ideal location for day-long outings. The beach also features a playground for children and a swimming area. There are several picnic shelters available on a first-come basis, and clean restrooms with changing stalls are conveniently located at either end of the beach. The beach is accessible via a parking area, which charges a fee of $7 per car. The park is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with an entrance fee applicable on weekends and holidays in April, May, and September, as well as daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The beach is connected by the Lake Trail, a two-mile maintained hiking trail that runs through the woods and connects popular spots such as Swim Beach and Shelters 4, 5, and 6. The trail is marked by signs and blue dots on trees. The beach tends to be less crowded on weekdays, providing a more relaxed atmosphere. Visitors are encouraged to be considerate of the natural environment and other guests by using the numerous trash cans provided around the beach. Despite its popularity, the beach maintains a clean and well-kept appearance, thanks to the diligent efforts of the staff.
