Sarigerme Public Beach is a well-kept public beach located in the village of Sarigerme, Ortaca, where the Aegean Sea meets the Mediterranean Sea. It is recognized for its clean sandy bottom without stones, making it a great choice for children and those who enjoy shallow waters. The calm waters in the morning offer a tranquil setting for beachgoers.
Sarigerme Public Beach is one of 20 barrier-free beaches established by the Mugla Metropolitan Municipality as part of the "Accessible Beaches" project. It is specially designed with ramps for disabled individuals, making it easier for them to enter the sea. Sun loungers are also available on the accessible beach. Additionally, the municipality offers assistance to disabled citizens who wish to enter the sea, by transporting them from their homes and returning them afterwards.
The beach is equipped with various facilities to ensure an enjoyable visit. Among these are a café that offers a variety of food options, changing cabins, showers, and parking spaces. For those who prefer to bring their own meals, tables and benches are provided. The beach also features a camping area and a nearby river, which provides opportunities for fishing.
Managed by the Ortaca Council and the village government, the beach has been enhanced with a variety of trees, some of which have been labelled with their species. While there is an entrance fee, it is only accepted in cash. Despite its popularity, the beach is spacious enough to accommodate a large number of visitors, making it a more preferred choice than pricier beach clubs. For added comfort, the beach also offers parasols and sunbeds for rent.
