Spiaggia Sassi Neri is a renowned beach situated in Sirolo, within the Parco del Conero. The beach is known for its unique natural characteristics, including its clear blue sea water and lush green vegetation. The beach features distinctive dark rocks and stones, from which it derives its name, that are found on the seabed. These rocks give the water a dark hue.
The beach is ideal for swimming, as the water deepens quickly just a few meters from the shore. Additionally, the beach is a popular spot for snorkeling due to the variety of underwater sights available for exploration. The beach's natural beauty can be appreciated during any season, though it should be noted that the sun sets early in the afternoon due to the shadow cast by Monte Conero.
Spiaggia Sassi Neri is connected to San Michele beach, and together they form a long crescent shape. The beach is equipped with amenities such as sunbeds and umbrellas, which are available for a fee, and there are also two bathing establishments on the beach. Areas for free beach access are designated as well. Despite its popularity, the beach is not overly crowded, especially after 6pm.
There are two trails that lead to the beach from the city of Sirolo. One of these trails is steep and may not be suitable for children or those in poor health, while the other trail is also steep but more manageable. For those who prefer not to walk, a bus service to the beach is available.
Parking is available near the beach, typically opening around 1 o'clock. There is a fee for parking, with a parking lot next to the cemetery in Sirolo serving as one option. This parking lot charges a fee for the entire afternoon.
