Steam Vents Beach

Steam Vents Beach is a distinctive volcanic beach situated in Pahoa, Hawaii, approximately 10 miles from Kehena nude beach. The beach is renowned for its natural steam bath, which is produced by volcanic activity emanating from two caves and several open-air vents.

Local inhabitants have erected wooden benches in the caves and vents, making it a preferred destination for tourists to enjoy the steam in a state of undress. The warmer cave is roughly 500 feet from the highway.

The beach is open 24 hours a day, but the trails can be steep and slippery, requiring visitors to traverse sharp lava rocks. It is advisable for visitors to bring a towel, ample drinking water, and take periodic breaks from the steam.

A flashlight is necessary for visits during dusk or night, and car break-ins have been reported, which is why valuables should not be left in the car.
