Spiaggia Torre Saracena is a tranquil beach located on the island of Capri, Italy. It is nestled in a secluded cove known as Baia di Marina Piccola, situated in the municipality of Capri. The beach holds a rich history in the tourism industry, having been established in 1906.
The beach is distinguished by its clear waters, high salt content that allows for effortless floating, and a rocky landscape that visitors often climb for fun. Despite its natural beauty, Spiaggia Torre Saracena is not typically crowded, making it an ideal spot for those seeking tranquility and an escape from the usual tourist spots.
The beach offers various amenities for visitors to enjoy. These include the rental of umbrellas, towels, sun loungers, and beach beds, as well as both hot and cold showers. Additional facilities provided on the elevated terraces include cabins and changing rooms, which are useful for storing belongings or changing before dining at the beachside restaurant. The restaurant serves typical seafood dishes in a picturesque setting suitable for special occasions. There is also a bar that provides everything necessary for sheltered aperitifs under a pergola, offering shade on hot days and a unique view.
Spiaggia Torre Saracena is easily accessible from various points on the island. From the center of Capri, it can be reached on foot in about twenty minutes or by car in five minutes. From Anacapri, the other main municipality on the island, the beach can be reached by car in ten minutes along a 5 km route via Via Provinciale and then Via Marina Piccola.
Additionally, the beach can be reached from the mainland by taking a ferry from the port of Naples to Capri, a journey that typically takes just under two hours. From the landing point on Capri, a subsequent bus ride will take visitors to the beach.
Despite being one of the few beaches on Capri that does not charge an entrance fee, Spiaggia Torre Saracena does not have extensive amenities. As such, visitors are advised to come prepared for a day of swimming and relaxation.
