Wonwell Beach is a tranquil estuary beach located in the South Hams district of Devon county, within the South West region of England. It offers a variety of routes varying in distance from 1 mile to 10 miles, catering to different levels of difficulty, from easy to severe. However, it's important to note that the water can be cold and the riverbed is uneven and rocky. It is recommended to cross about 2 hours either side of low tide, walking in a straight line from the foot of the ramp on the Eastern side towards the cottages on the opposite bank. Wearing a swimming costume and using a waterproof bag is advisable for this activity, as one can get unexpectedly wet.
