Cala Mariolu

Cala Mariolu beach is a hidden gem located on the enchanting southeast coast of Sardinia in the town of Tortolì. Nestled in Orosei Bay, this idyllic stretch of fine sand sits amidst magnificent limestone cliffs and boasts sparkling crystal clear waters, rendering it a prime destination for families with children. The name Cala Mariolu is derived from an intriguing tale of a Mediterranean monk seal who supposedly pilfered fish from the nets of the Ponza fishermen, thus earning the reputation of being a "thief" or mariolo in Italian.
