Center Beach, locally known as Plage du Centre, is a beautiful and family-friendly beach situated in the resort town of Bidart, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Aquitaine, France. The beach, which is approximately 500 meters in length, is nestled between Erretegia and Uhabia beaches along the Atlantic Ocean. It is characterized by its fine sand, turquoise water, and stunning green cliffs.
The beach is known for its natural beauty, with the contrast of the Atlantic Ocean and the green cliffs providing a breathtaking landscape that changes throughout the day. At low tide, the sandy beach reveals beautiful rocky bottoms, making it a paradise for photography enthusiasts. The beach is equipped with amenities such as toilets, showers, a snack bar, and a restaurant with a magnificent view. During the summer season, the beach also offers facilities for people with reduced mobility, including the availability of tiralo. Additionally, there is a beach club for children and a beach volleyball court.
Center Beach is supervised from mid-June to the end of September, making it a safe place for various water activities such as swimming, surfing, and bodyboarding. Dogs are not allowed on the beach during this period.
Access to Center Beach is convenient, with multiple options available. There is a free parking area nearby, although it is only free outside of the period from June 15 to September 15. During the summer season, parking availability may be a concern due to the increased number of visitors. In addition to car parking, there is also bicycle parking available. Alternatively, the beach can also be accessed by bus from the "Plage du Centre" stop. Furthermore, the beach is located approximately 1200 meters away from Camping Oyam, a camping site in Bidart.
