Plage d'Arès

Plage d'Arès, also known as Plage du Triangle Pereire, is a serene beach located in the town of Arès, in the Gironde department of the Aquitaine region, France. The beach is part of the Arès seaside resort, renowned for its natural surroundings inclusive of the largest salt marshes in Aquitaine. The beach is situated on the Arcachon Bay, providing a picturesque view of the bay, while also being surrounded by a heavily wooded area, primarily consisting of pine trees that offer ample shade for the visitors. The natural environment of the beach attracts nature enthusiasts, offering a peaceful atmosphere, especially during the morning hours, and is considered an ideal spot for relaxation. The beach is part of two types of beaches offered by the resort, those on the Bassin d'Arcachon and those on the Atlantic Ocean. Plage d'Arès falls under the category of Bassin beaches that stretch for 2 kilometers between La Jetée and the Conche de Saint Brice. These beaches are characterized by their shallow water which makes them suitable for young children and popular for shellfish fishing. The resort also offers a designated swimming area in the Bassin known as the Saint Brice bathing area, which is accessible for swimming even at low tide. Plage d'Arès is equipped with amenities like showers, toilets, faucets, and changing rooms located near the lake, ensuring a comfortable experience for the visitors. Parking is also readily available, offering convenience for those traveling by car. The beach is approximately 713 meters away from Arès and can be reached via the departmental coastal road. Despite the presence of numerous speed bumps and roundabouts, the journey to the beach is considered enjoyable by many. However, visitors are advised to be aware of the tide schedules as the beach is only accessible for bathing or rowing during high tide, and also to be prepared for mosquito bites due to the wooded surroundings.
