Spiaggia di Remontò is a small and secluded beach situated in the town of Marciana Marina, Italy. The beach is surrounded by a stunning natural environment, characterized by the Mediterranean scrub and cliffs exhibiting a variety of dark and light hues. Its location, away from the bustling crowds, grants it an intimate and tranquil atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for those seeking peace and quiet. However, the sun's rays tend to disappear from the beach by around 5pm.
The beach can be reached through a stairway path originating from the provincial road. However, the journey can be challenging, particularly for those with young children, as the stairway path is reported to be in poor condition. Parking facilities are not available in the immediate vicinity of the beach. The closest parking area is almost a kilometer away on the provincial road.
A unique feature of Spiaggia di Remontò is its viewing deck, situated 20 meters beyond the beach along the footpath. From here, visitors can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Procchio.
Despite its natural beauty, the beach does have some drawbacks. It is often covered in seaweed, both on the beach and in the water, which could affect the overall beach experience. Additionally, there are no amenities or services available on the beach.
In the past, there have been controversies regarding attempts to privatize parts of the beach. Legambiente Arcipelago Toscano, an environmental association, has taken a stand against such attempts, asserting that the beach is a public domain and should not be sold as private property. They have urged local administration and other relevant authorities to prevent any privatization of the beach and reclaim any privatized portions.
