Garnet Beach, also known as Charlie Beach, is a popular destination located in Koh Mook. The beach is known for its clear sea with mild waves, making it ideal for a decent swim. Depending on the day, the beach can be busy or quiet. It is particularly crowded on public holidays, but on other days, it can be quite serene. The beach is sandy with a few rocks and pebbles, and there are some rocks on the south end of the beach. Visitors should be aware of small clear jellyfish in the sea. At dusk, dead sand flies can be seen in the sea. One of the highlights of Garnet Beach is the mesmerising sunset view. The colors in the sky are breathtaking and provide a perfect end to a day at the beach. The beach is also known for its friendly and welcoming atmosphere, with locals always happy to share their recommendations. There are plenty of food stalls on the beach, offering a variety of dishes. Kayaks are available for those who wish to explore the sea. For relaxation, massages are also offered on the beach. Getting to Garnet Beach is quite straightforward. It can be reached by cycling from the town pier in less than 20 minutes. There is a slight incline upwards which can be challenging in the heat, but it is manageable for those who are fit. Alternatively, a taxi can be taken to the beach, with the journey taking approximately 30-40 minutes. There are a few accommodations available on the beach, including Long Beach Koh Mook and Ko Yao Bungalow. Visitors are advised to bring mosquito repellent if they plan to stay for the sunset.
