Gialos Beach is located on the western coast of Lefkas. It is known for its spacious and uncrowded nature, making it a popular choice for those seeking privacy and tranquility. The beach is characterized by its turquoise waters, mixed sandy and pebbly terrain, and various sizes of rocks in the water. Despite its large size, it maintains a sense of seclusion and is not typically busy, offering ample space for all visitors.
The beach is accessible via a curvy road, which can be a bit rough at the beginning but is mostly new with safety bands, walls on the sides, and a nice flat tarmac. The most challenging part of the journey is the inclination. The access road is all asphalt, with safety nets for falling rocks. Most of it is two lanes, but there is a more narrow segment going through an olive grove on the upper part, connecting it to the main road. The parking lot at the very bottom is right next to the beach and is free of charge, although it is unshaded.
Gialos Beach offers a range of amenities including sunbeds, umbrellas, and a few taverns and beach bars where visitors can grab a cold drink or a bite to eat. The beach is also a great spot for snorkeling, with underwater boulders a short distance from the shore that attract a variety of fish and small crabs. However, visitors are advised to be careful when entering the water due to the presence of waves rolling small rocks and large stones in the water.
