La Cala is a small, secluded beach located in Elba. Known for its natural beauty, it is characterized by its rocky terrain and pebbly surface. The beach is not typically crowded, providing a peaceful retreat for visitors. However, it is worth noting that the surf stays quite shallow and harbours a number of large stones and rocks with cockles, which may cause some discomfort to swimmers. Snorkeling is a recommended activity for both entertainment and safety. Access to La Cala requires a bit of effort. From the last possible parking space, it is about a 15-minute walk, mostly downhill, to reach the beach. The return journey involves an uphill trek, which can be physically demanding. Despite this, many visitors find the journey worthwhile for the tranquility and stunning views that La Cala offers. The beach does not have the usual loungers and is free from the typical beach hustle and bustle, adding to its charm.
