Playa de la Atalaya

Playa de la Atalaya is a small and picturesque cove situated in the town of Ribadesella, in the region of Asturias, Spain. The beach, named after the Corbero or La Atalaya mountain that separates it from the nearby fishing village, is characterized by its white sand, stones, blocks, pebbles, and gravel. With a length of approximately 100 meters and a width of 35 meters, the beach is known for its tranquil atmosphere and beautiful scenery, adding to its appeal for nature lovers. The beach can be accessed either on foot from the urban area of Ribadesella, also known as Ribeseya, or by car from the outskirts of the town. Clear signage is provided for easy access, and a parking facility is available for those traveling by car. Despite its accessibility, Playa de la Atalaya is not typically crowded, owing to its slightly secluded location and moderate waves, making it a peaceful retreat for visitors. However, the sea at this beach can be quite deep and strong, which may not be ideal for swimming. Playa de la Atalaya offers a range of amenities for its visitors. These include showers and hospitality services. There is also a lifeguard service available on weekends and holidays from June 10th to September 17th, ensuring the safety of beachgoers. In addition, trash bins and a cleaning service help maintain the cleanliness of the beach. However, it's worth noting that animals are not permitted on the beach from May 1st to September 30th. When in the nearby areas during this period, pets must be leashed with a maximum length of 1 meter, and if necessary, wear a muzzle.
