For the safety of its visitors, lifeguard services are available during the summer season, from July 1st to August 31st, between 1:30 pm and 7:00 pm. The beach also has an accessibility mat at the entrance for people with reduced mobility, available from June 15th to September 15th, depending on the weather. Amphibious wheelchairs can also be requested at the lifeguard station during the summer months.
The beach has a parking lot nearby, making it easily accessible for visitors. To reach the beach from the center of Batz-sur-Mer, visitors can take the D45 road towards Pouliguen for about 2 kilometers, with the beach clearly indicated on the right side of the road.
In addition to its recreational offerings, Plage de la Govelle is also a hub for nature lovers. Visitors can enjoy walking along the coast on the customs officers' trail, which leads to the town of Batz-sur-Mer. At low tide, the beach and its rocks become a paradise for shore fishermen. The beach also provides access to the hiking trail called "Les granits de Batz," a 13 km circuit that offers a closer look at the natural beauty of the area.
It's worth noting that certain activities are restricted on the beach to maintain its tranquility and cleanliness. Dogs and other animals are not allowed on the beach between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm from April 15th to September 30th. Lighting fires on the beach and smoking within the designated area are also prohibited. Metal detection requires authorization from the Municipal Police Department.
