Plage de la Grande-Conche is a popular and expansive beach located in the seaside resort town of Royan, France. It is divided into several sections, each with its own distinct characteristics. The area closest to the port is the widest and is filled with various amenities. As one moves towards Saint Georges de Didonne, the beach narrows considerably and is interspersed with rocks, making it disappear during high tide. However, the beach widens again about 800 meters further, offering a more secluded and peaceful environment. This section is lined with beautiful houses from the Belle Époque era, adding to its charm.
One of the unique features of Plage de la Grande-Conche is the flatness of the sand under the water. This allows beachgoers to play in the surf without getting too deep too quickly. The beach is also known for its warm waters.

Please note that dogs are not allowed on the beach from April 1st to September 30th. The beach is kept clean with the help of two tide bins for manual cleaning by visitors, available from October to March.
