Plage de la Pointe

Plage de la Pointe is a serene beach located in L'Aiguillon-la-Presqu'île, on the southern coast of Vendée, France. Notably, it is part of the Tranche sur Mer and La Faute sur Mer municipalities, and is managed by a local real estate agency. The beach is characterized by its fine sand, tranquility, and isolation, which provides visitors with a unique sense of privilege and peace.

The natural beauty of the beach is further enhanced by the breathtaking view it offers of La Rochelle, Île de Ré, and the Ile de Ré bridge. Adding to the picturesque setting, the air is fresh and scented with iodine, contributing to the overall refreshing experience. The beach is also complemented by a dune, a significant part of the landscape that is maintained and preserved.

Furthermore, the beach is home to a variety of birds, including the interrupted collared plover that nests and reproduces on the beach. To protect these nests and eggs, visitors are requested to tread carefully and walk at the bottom of the beach from April to August.

In accordance with its National Nature Reserve status, certain rules are enforced to protect the biotope. For instance, dogs are not permitted on the beach or in the dunes, and swimming is prohibited at the extreme point of the beach.
