Spiaggia La Polveriera is a picturesque beach situated in Scarlino, Italy, about 3 kilometers from the town of Follonica. The beach derives its name from an ancient powder magazine, although no remnants of it exist today. It is historically significant for its long pier that was once used for loading sulfuric acid produced by the Casone factory from pyrite in the Metalliferous Hills. Presently, the area is known for its numerous industrial archaeology sites, preserved within the National Park of the Grosseto Metalliferous Hills. Visitors have the opportunity to explore these mines through a blend of nature and culture-based itineraries.
The beach is renowned for its sandy shores, clear and shallow waters, and an absence of strong currents, making it one of the most popular destinations in the Gulf of Follonica. During low tide, small sandy dunes, referred to as "dry" areas, emerge from the water, creating a fun environment for children to play.

Parking is available a few minutes away from the beach, although due to the beach's popularity, finding a spot can sometimes be challenging. The beach can also be accessed through multiple openings in the breezy pine forest, which provides shade and picnic spots for visitors, making it an ideal place to rest during the peak heat of the day.
