Plage le Bouil

Plage le Bouil is a large beach located in Longeville-sur-Mer, in the Vendée department of the Pays de la Loire region in France. The beach is situated at the entrance of Longeville-sur-Mer, coming from St Vincent sur Jard. The beach is characterized by its natural beauty, including vast dunes and a mix of pebbly and sandy areas. Despite not being supervised, it is popular for both locals and tourists, and is renowned for its tranquility and cleanliness. The beach is also known for its water sports facilities. Between access points 4 and 5, there is a designated area for kite surfing and windsurfing. At access points 2 and 3, there is a navigation channel. However, visitors are advised to exercise caution when swimming due to the strong currents and frequent water holes. Amenities at Plage le Bouil include a beach bar that remains open even in the off-peak month of September, a catering service available every spring and summer, and a small snack corner at the entrance of the beach. There is also a sailing school operating in the area for those interested in water sports. Access to the beach is convenient, with free parking available at the most convenient access point, located near the Chemin des Oursins. There are also several hiking trails along the coast, with benches scattered along these trails, some of which are sheltered from the sun, providing a comfortable spot for visitors to relax and enjoy the seaside ambiance. Despite its popularity, Plage le Bouil is not typically overcrowded, offering enough space for visitors to enjoy their time at the beach. The beach extends for several hundred meters to the beaches of St Vincent sur Jard on the right, and several kilometers to the south towards the hamlets of Rocher and Conches, providing beautiful views of the surrounding areas.
