Cala Le Donne, located in the region of Tuscany, Italy, is a small, secluded beach known for its tranquil ambiance and natural beauty. This beach is situated in the vicinity of Scarlino. Unlike other nearby beaches, Cala Le Donne is less crowded, offering a peaceful retreat for those looking for a quiet day by the sea.
The beach is characterized by a pebble composition, with some pebbles arranged ornamentally by visitors. It is nestled near the woods, providing natural shade for beachgoers seeking refuge from the sun. However, the presence of rocks and stones both on the beach and in the water can make swimming a bit challenging. The water declines very gradually, making the descent into the water somewhat difficult, and the rocks can be slippery.
In addition to its natural features, Cala Le Donne also boasts a beach club known for its exclusivity. This club features a terrace with a stunning view of the Gulf of Follonica, where guests can enjoy dinner shows, themed parties, and the company of exclusive guests. The beach club serves a buffet apericena, offering a wide range of antipasti, primi piatti, and grilled and fried dishes, accompanied by live music. The beach club also offers a menu with a selection of seafood and meat dishes. After dinner, guests can enjoy show performances and entertainment under the stars from 11:30 PM.
Access to Cala Le Donne is via two parallel routes. One is steeper but manageable, while the other is rougher, supported by a rope. Neither of these routes is suitable for bicycles. Visitors should be prepared for a walk, as the parking lot is some distance away. An alternative route to the beach starts at the end of the port of Scarlino. For visitors who prefer table service at the beach club, it is recommended to dine at the restaurant. Table reservations are available for a minimum of four people, but guests can also participate in the apericena without a reservation by paying at the entrance. The beach club also offers a beach terrace, subject to capacity.
