Plage du Moulleau

Plage du Moulleau is a picturesque beach situated in Arcachon, Gironde, Aquitaine, France. The beach lies at the southernmost tip of Arcachon and is approximately 2 kilometers away from the city center. Its location at the entrance of the basin offers an impressive view of the Dune of Pyla, Banc d'Arguin, and Cap Ferret. The beach is characterized by its sandy terrain and calm, clear waters, protected by the Cap Ferret. Its unique feature includes the presence of small fish that come to the water's edge and provide a playful experience for visitors. Despite its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean, which lends it more depth compared to other Arcachon beaches, it remains an ideal spot for children and those seeking to enjoy the serene beauty of the sea. Plage du Moulleau is known for its lively atmosphere, especially during the peak season, attracting young people in the mornings and families for the rest of the day. The beach is supervised from mid-June to mid-September, ensuring the safety of its visitors. It also houses two vacation clubs for children, namely the "Club Balou" and "Club Mickey Marin." The beach is located near a jetty, which is a favored spot for fishermen. Additionally, it also hosts a surf school, contributing to the variety of activities available for beach-goers. For the convenience of visitors, the beach provides showers and water points. The Moulleau district, a few hundred meters away, is home to numerous restaurants, shops, and luxury boutiques, adding to the upscale atmosphere of the area. Despite the beach's popularity, visitors can still find ample space to bask in the sun and enjoy the beautiful water, particularly in the first week of July. However, parking in the vicinity can be challenging, particularly during the summer, due to limited parking spaces. While the surrounding area is quite posh with bars for visitors, it is also known to be rather pricey. Visitors are therefore advised to dress appropriately when visiting the area.
