Plage Petit Nice

Plage Petit Nice is a wonderful beach located near the Dune du Pilat. It is characterized by its wild nature, making it an ideal location for walks. The beach is also known for its unique concrete sand castles, which add to its charm. However, due to shore erosion, access to the northern end of the beach has been fenced off, resulting in a sand cliff.

The beach is not recommended for swimming due to the strong current in some areas and the water's rusty colour and unpleasant smell. Instead, it is a popular spot for watching the sunset.

In terms of amenities, there is a bar restaurant and picnic tables nestled among the surviving pines, providing a serene setting for visitors. Unfortunately, the surrounding forest was affected by a fire last summer.

Parking is available and was free of charge in September. However, another carpark has a low height barrier and is considered overpriced for camping cars. The beach is not usually crowded, with very few people seen walking up on the Dune.
