Praia de Ponzos

Praia de Ponzos is an isolated and naturally beautiful beach located in the municipality of Ferrol, in A Coruña, Galicia, Spain. It's approximately 10 kilometers away from Ferrol. The beach stretches 1,400 meters in length and has a width of 55 meters. Noted for its strong waves and windy conditions, Praia de Ponzos is a popular spot among surfers and even hosts the Galician Open Surf circuit. Despite its popularity, the beach is not typically crowded, offering a tranquil environment for visitors.

The beach is known for its long-standing tradition of nudism, particularly in the northern part of the beach closer to Valdoviño. The beach's natural characteristics include white sand and surrounding vegetation. However, visitors should exercise caution as the open ocean can be somewhat dangerous due to the strong waves.

Several amenities are provided at Praia de Ponzos. These include toilets, showers, and trash bins. In addition, there is a surveillance service, and the Red Cross is also present. However, it's worth noting that the beach does not offer a wide range of amenities, so visitors are advised to come prepared.

To reach Praia de Ponzos, visitors can drive via the DP-3603 road, taking a turnoff at Ponzos. Public transportation is available within 2 kilometers of the beach.
