S'ortixeddu

S'ortixeddu is a stunning beach located in the municipality of Teulada, in the southwestern part of Sardinia. The beach is approximately a 5-minute journey from the town's marina and is nestled within a long, wind-protected bay. The beach is characterized by its fine white sand, interspersed with a few small rocks, and the crystal-clear water that adorns its shoreline. The sea is shallow with a sandy seabed, displaying a beautiful gradient of turquoise, azure, and emerald green shades, which is a common feature of beaches in this region. Despite its beauty and popularity, S'ortixeddu is not usually overcrowded, even during the peak summer season. However, visitors should be aware that there are no amenities such as bars or cafes directly on the beach, so they are advised to bring their own food and beverages. Access to the beach is via the Strada Statale 195 towards Teulada, followed by a right turn towards Portu Tramatzu at the marina. From here, a straight drive on the main dirt road leads to parking areas near the beach. Parking is available for a daily fee, with some concessions offered for half-day parking. While the drive to the beach might be a bit long, the natural beauty of S'ortixeddu makes it a worthwhile destination. However, visitors may occasionally encounter jellyfish in the water and cow feces on the beach, which are minor drawbacks to an otherwise picturesque location.
