Spiaggia Zia Culumba is a stunning beach located in the Mediterranean, easily accessible from the road from S.Teresa di Gallura to Capo Testa. The beach is known for its crystal clear lagoon and soft sand, making it one of the most beautiful beaches in the region. The water is transparent, allowing visitors to see fishes swimming around, and the shallow water makes it perfect for little kids. The beach is also a popular spot for watersports, with rentals available for those interested in snorkeling or slide boats. A kiosk is available on-site for basic snacks and drinks.
Parking is available, but it is recommended to arrive early to secure a spot. If you're lucky, you can find a spot up the hill and avoid paying a fee. Otherwise, parking fees apply.
At the end of the beach, a path leads to an area of rocks once used by Romans to extract granites for their columns. Some unfinished columns and stones with holes indicating where cuts were planned can still be seen, offering a glimpse into the past. Visitors are advised to wear firm shoes if they plan to explore these little beaches.
The beach can get a bit crowded, but the magnificent view makes up for it. The best time to visit is in September, although the vibrant colors and smells can be enjoyed from March through October. The beach is also a great spot for swimming, playing, and even a little diving.
