Cala Bianca is a picturesque beach located in the municipality of Camerota, Italy, in the southern part of Marina di Camerota, between the Pozzallo beach and the Porto degli Infreschi beach. It has gained recognition for its natural beauty, with a scenic blend of white pebbles, sand, and crystal-clear waters opening up to the Tyrrhenian Sea from the Infreschi coast. The white hue of the pebbles, which become larger towards the interior and gradually transition into sand near the shore, gives the beach its name, Cala Bianca.
The beach is situated within the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park and is surrounded by lush green vegetation, which enhances its charm. Small coves hidden among the rocks offer visitors pockets of privacy. The clear, deep sea is a haven for marine life, making the beach an ideal spot for snorkeling and swimming. Dolphins have occasionally been spotted near the shoreline.
Reaching Cala Bianca can be an adventure in itself. One option is to take a boat to the beach. During the summer, cooperative boats depart from the port of Marina di Camerota to various coves, including Cala Bianca. However, anchoring boats is not allowed, and the coast guard frequently patrols the area.
For those who prefer land travel, the Sentiero degli Infreschi trail offers a more intense and exciting experience. The trail begins from the Lentiscelle beach in Marina di Camerota and follows the entire Infreschi coastline. Another trail starts next to the camping village Romano and leads to Cala Bianca after about a 40-minute trek. For those who opt to drive, a parking area is available about a 20-minute walk from the beach. However, the road leading closer to Cala Bianca is unpaved.
Despite the lack of tourist facilities on the beach, visitors are advised to bring water and all necessary supplies for a day at the beach. The beach's natural beauty and tranquility make it a must-visit destination, and it is recommended that visitors experience Cala Bianca at least once in their lifetime, either by sea or along the trail.
