Spiaggia di Ciraccio is a beautiful free beach located on the island of Procida in the province of Naples, Italy. Situated on the western side of the island, it offers stunning views of the neighbouring island of Ischia and the Italian mainland. The beach is known for its dark volcanic sand and is surrounded by clear, crystalline water that ranges in color from azure to blue. The seabed gradually slopes towards the open sea, making it ideal for swimming.
One of the most unique features of Ciraccio Beach is its natural environment. It is surrounded by high tuff cliffs and is marked to the south by the picturesque Faraglioni of Procida. The beach is further enhanced by the islet of Vivara, which overlooks it. Vivara is part of the Marine Protected Area of the Kingdom of Neptune and is known for its botanical, faunal, and archaeological beauties.
Spiaggia di Ciraccio provides a range of amenities for visitors. There are free beach areas as well as beach establishments where visitors can rent umbrellas and sunbeds. Restroom facilities are also available, and visitors can enjoy refreshments at the beach bar. The beach is also known for its beach dancing clubs, where couples can enjoy classic dances like the Tango.
The beach can be accessed via the Ciraccio road, and it is also possible to reach it on foot from Chiaiolella Beach, which is located south of the Faraglioni of Procida. For visitors coming from Naples, there are many ferries or hydrofoils that depart from the Beverello pier or the Calata Porta di Massa port and arrive at the Marina di Procida port after a half-hour journey. From Marina Grande, it is recommended to take a bus, such as the L1 or L2 routes, with a journey time of approximately 15 minutes.
Despite being a popular beach during the summer, particularly in the month of August, Spiaggia di Ciraccio is known for its peaceful atmosphere. The beach is typically uncrowded, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing day. However, the area near the Faraglioni can be more crowded, as it serves as the starting point of the Chiaiolella beach.
