Spiaggia di Recommone is a small, picturesque beach nestled in a cove in Massa Lubrense, a municipality located in Naples, Italy. Measuring approximately 65 meters, the beach features a pebbly shoreline composed of clear, small pebbles. The waters are known for their distinct deep blue color, characteristic of the Tyrrhenian Sea, although they can become slightly wavy due to the frequent movement of boats. The beach's natural appeal is further enhanced by its rocky coastline and the presence of various cavities, the largest of which is the Grotta Recommone, also known as The Fishermen's Grotto.
The beach is equipped with standard amenities, including beach chairs and showers, which are available for an additional fee. There is also a restaurant situated on the right side of the beach, complemented by a small cement dock. Visitors can participate in activities such as canoeing and pedal boating, adding to the beach's recreational appeal.
For transportation, the beach can be reached both by land and sea. There is a scenic trail that starts from the nearby Marina del Cantone beach and winds around the headland of St. Antonio. This route offers visitors a glimpse of the historic Tower of Recommone, dating back to 1567. Alternately, the beach is also accessible by car, bike, or public transportation. For those driving, parking is available in a square at the end of the street and in a large parking lot. During the summer, shuttle services may be provided from the parking lots to the beach. Public buses from SITA also service the area, departing from Sorrento or Sant'Agata sui Due Golfi.
Despite its relatively small size, Spiaggia di Recommone can get crowded, particularly during the peak summer months. Nevertheless, there is a quieter side to the beach, shielded by large rocks, where visitors can enjoy some respite from the sun in the afternoon. Given the pebbly nature of the beach, visitors are advised to wear appropriate footwear, such as water shoes or slippers, for comfort.
