The beach, approximately 300 meters in length, features golden sand and crystal-clear blue water. It is also characterized by an outcropping of rocks near the shore, providing a unique feature where visitors can relax with their bodies in the sea. However, caution is advised during hot days as both the rocks and the dark grey sand can become quite hot. To ensure comfort, visitors are recommended to bring flip-flops.
La Mandra Beach is surrounded by hotels and offers an impressive view of not only Castello Aragonese but also the islands of Vivara and Procida. Apart from the breathtaking views, visitors can engage in various activities such as swimming, sunbathing, and snorkeling. Despite its clear and warm water, the beach does not have lifeguards on duty, hence swimmers need to exercise caution.
The beach is free to access and has a few amenities, including bathrooms. However, it does not have a parking lot. Visitors planning to come by car will have to park on the street. Although parking is free, finding a spot might be challenging during the peak season. Dogs are not permitted on the beach.
To reach La Mandra Beach, visitors can either walk along the coastal paths from Ischia Porto or move away from Ischia Ponte. Another recognizable landmark near the beach is the large ochre-colored building, the entrance of the Miramare e Castello Hotel.
